The average age for someone watching a movie is usually the younger generation usually between 15-25, this is because people want to experience different emotions and feelings, they are more likely to enjoy the heart pounding horror and sometimes watch things before thinking about possibilities leading to a frightening experience. The horror can excite the young audience more easily and this is good because young people are less likely to be put off by violent imagery which could have a negative effect on the older audience.

The male audience are more likely to like horror films because they can be viewed more as a thrill seekers, it could also be because of the fact that there can be a lot of violence in horror movies which a female audience might not like as much

The class range is aimed at all classes because the prices are relatively cheap but the entertainment good, however it is usually the middle class and working class who come to see the film, this may be because of the satisfaction middle class people seek when watching a film.

Usually people go to see horror movies with a group of friends because it is more of an entertaining experience for everyone in the party to watch every person in the groups different reactions.It is also popular among young couples who are having their first date because it can provide a quiet yet close first date experience. It also tends to be popular with couples who have been going out a long time as they are happy in each-others company and therefore are probably used to how the other one will react.
