Genre analysis- action

Gender
the gender who usually watches the action genre the most is men because they feel like they can relate to the main character more as it is predominantly male and is the spitting image of what men think they should aspire to be. They believe they should have big muscles, tough look and shouldn't be affected by anything emotionally.

Class and race
usually the class which watches the action genre is the working class. This means that when the director is making a hero he usually makes him working class so almost the entire audience can relate to the character. That is also why they make the villain usually upper class and rich people. Its because the working class maybe feel a little like the upper class are constantly being better than them so in the movie they usually make the hero kill a rich businessman so the audience can relate.

The villain is usually someone of eastern influence with a typical eastern accent. This could of originated from the cold war where America believed that the one true threat in the world was in the east in the shape of communism and so based their characters of what they believe was abnormal and evil. The character also is usually a bit camp and snobby usually with a great background but a bad experience which changed their life for the worse. This is another thing Hollywood usually shows as an abnormality and therefore isn't a good thing to be.
