Favourite film and genre

Favourite film and genre

Godzilla is my favourite film at the moment because it includes lots of action for pretty much the entire film. They use lots of techniques to make the movie interesting and full of suspense with the constant whereabouts of the monsters being a constant threat to the humanity around it. They also use a good story plot to bring all the monsters into a different light with the footage form the Marshall Islands experiment and other disasters in world history and  give them a reason other than human error to blame (Godzilla).

The film uses a vast array of camera shots to get across different types of views of all characters in the film. For example for the main characters it uses close up shots to get across the emotion more for most scenes and long shots on the fight scenes between monsters, battleships, tanks or any other main fighting machine.

The main characters are there mainly to introduce the story (Ken Watanabe) or they are just there to add more suspense to the film and give a more human feel in a fight between aliens and Godzilla to make the scenes more realistic.

Favourite genre

My favourite genre in movies is action because I feel like it is the most interesting to watch for a large majority of time. It also appeals to a wide audience and a lot of different groups of people. The genre is great because some of the best movies don’t have one part in the movie without a bit of action which is great for the viewer because you can get properly engrossed into the film and understand it a lot more to a fill without as much detail.

The action films have a lot more CGI nowadays because it is cheaper to make a realistic explosion on the green screen rather than making a proper explosion which will cost a lot more money to create. The best action films of our decade have all had similar things in common and they are- a good plot, continuous action, good actors, large budget, wide audience, lots of explosions, good music and a hero and villain character.

This means that all the films can look at the things they need and put them all together because to appeal to a wide range of audiences you need to have a wide range of different stuff happening. For example a lot of explosions for teenagers and children, a romance part which isn’t the sole point of the movie for parents and well established actors to act so the older generation can see actors from the era.
